HOW MUCH SPACE IS REQUIRED FOR DELIVERY?
The amount of space is minimal. For a 20’ storage container you will need approximately 75 feet of straight clearance. For a 40’ storage container you will need approximately 100 feet of straight clearance. The width requirement is approximately 10 feet.

HOW IS THE STORAGE CONTAINER DELIVERED?
We deliver the cargo container to your site on a tilt-bed trailer. The driver will back in to the area, tilt the end of his trailer approximately 15 feet in the air, then the storage container will gently slide off the back of the trailer onto the ground. The driver will need to pull straight out from under the storage container.

HOW DO I RENT OR BUY A STORAGE CONTAINER?
To begin the rental process, you will need to complete a Credit Application, available either via fax, e-mail, on our web-site. You will need to fax the completed Credit Application to the Mckinney Branch Office. Once your credit application has been reviewed (2-4 hours), we can arrange for delivery. You will receive an invoice shortly after the delivery of your container(s), and every 28 days thereafter, as long as you continue to rent your container(s). If you are interested in the purchase of a storage container and don’t want to provide your credit information, we can bypass the Credit Application process by arranging for a COD delivery. You will need to make payment with a credit card, cashier’s check, money order, or company check.

IS THERE ANY SITE PREPARATION NECESSARY?
The only thing you need to worry about is that the surface is fairly level, smooth, and firm. We can deliver on dirt as long as it is not too soft. We can also deliver on cement, pavement, asphalt, gravel or grass.

DO I HAVE TO BE PRESENT FOR THE DELIVERY OF MY STORAGE CONTAINER?
We would prefer that you or a designated contact person be present the first time we deliver a shipping container to you. However, if this is not possible we can explore other options.

HOW LONG WILL DELIVERY TAKE FROM THE TIME OF ORDER?
We do frequently deliver a storage container the day it is ordered. Delivery time depends on our availability of containers, and what kind of modifications you may require. We suggest that you allow a day or two-delivery notice if possible. We will always do our best to accommodate your schedule.

IS THERE A MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM RENTAL PERIOD?
You can rent a storage container from a minimum of one month to as long as you choose. If you anticipate that you may have a requirement for an extended period of time you may want to consider
McKinney’s lease purchase program. Please ask a Mckinney representative to outline these options.

WHAT IF I WANT SHELVING IN MY CARGO CONTAINER?
We can install complete shelving on one, two, or three sides of your storage container. Just discuss with a Mckinney sales representative what will work best for you.

WHAT TYPE OF MODIFICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE?
Modifications are virtually as limitless as your imagination. Typical modifications include extra doors, turbine vents, windows etc. Please see our web page at here for a partial list of common modifications.

HOW SECURE ARE THE STORAGE CONTAINERS?
To discourage thieves our storage containers come equipped with a “Lock Box” designed to conceal and protect your padlock. Additionally, our storage containers are constructed with heavy-duty 14 gauge steel panels.

ARE THE SHIPPING CONTAINERS WEATHERPROOF?
We water-test all of our storage containers before delivery to be sure they do not leak. The storage containers are wind and water tight to protect your contents from the elements.

IS CONDENSATION A PROBLEM?
Answer: Depending on the time of year condensation or “sweat” may build up in your storage container. If you are near an electrical source, run an extension cord underneath the door gasket to a small fan to keep the air circulating inside the container. You could put the fan on low. Remember: it is more important to move air than add stagnant heat.

CAN I INSPECT THE STORAGE CONTAINER BEFORE DELIVERY?
Yes. If you are not familiar with our storage containers or would like to personally choose your container we encourage you to visit our facility. Pictures of available containers can be e-mailed as well. We have a special inspection area designed for your convenience and safety.

HOW DO I RETURN MY STORAGE CONTAINER WHEN IT IS NO LONGER NEEDED?
Call your Mckinney sales office and a representative will arrange for the pick up of the shipping container from your property. Additionally, if you have purchased a storage container from Mckinney and you no longer have use for it, we will repurchase your container at the current wholesale market value. Its that simple!
